About Us

Tawoos Power & Telecommunications LLC (TPT) is a member of one of Oman’s best known corporate houses – the Tawoos group. It was established in 1989 to address power and telecom markets in Oman.

With the introduction of GSM service in Oman in 1996, TPT got involved in infrastructure development and network roll-out in partnership with Motorola. In association with Alcatel it designed, supplied installed and commissioned several microwave links on the Motorola network.

In 2000 it supplied, installed and commissioned Digital Satellite Earth Stations (Ku and C Band) at Qurum and Salalah, DSNG and TVRO's all over Oman.

TPT provided the first camouflaged solution in Oman in 2002 to Omantel – Palm Tree Monopoles. It delivered innovative solutions – specialized towers, outdoor UPS and telecom cabinets were supplied and installed for Motorola in 2003-4.

TPT got a breakthrough in Siemens for telecom infrastructure development in 2005. It included microwave, BTS and antenna installation.

It signed the first major contract in 2005 for towers and poles directly with Oman Mobile for48 sites in 4 months in the most challenging of conditions in the Dhofar region of Oman
TPT became the No. 1 contractor for Huawei in the roll-out of 3G network in 2008.

It was awarded a contract in 2008 by Thales Communications for electromechanical works and HF Radio implementation for the navy.

TPT signed the single biggest frame contract for telecom infrastructure development for Oman Mobile in 2009, involving several sites all over Oman, and running for 3 years. It was awarded a repeat contract in 2012 for the next 3 years.

TPT implemented the first WiMAX sites for Huawei on Nawras network in 2009. In the same year it was awarded a contract by Huawei to implement MSAN, NGTN, NGN, IP-Core solutions for Oman Mobile.

In a first for TPT it was awarded a turnkey contract by General Dynamics in 2009 for HF radio project for Ministry of Defense.
